New Delhi: Preparations underway for the oath ceremony of the New Delhi Government, at the Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi.
Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan is set to host a grand swearing-in ceremony for the city’s new Chief Minister on Thursday. This marks the return of the BJP to power in the national capital after 27 years.

While the event will be a show of strength for the BJP, a key highlight will be the presence of cab drivers, auto drivers, and slum dwellers. These groups were actively courted by all parties during the elections with promises of freebies and benefits.

Former AAP Chief Ministers Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi have also been invited to the ceremony. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva is expected to send official invitations to both leaders.

The new Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers will take the oath of office at noon, administered by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena. Top political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states, will attend. BJP workers and leaders from other states who played a role in the party’s campaign are also expected to join.

A cultural programme featuring music and performances will take place before the ceremony.

The BJP secured a major victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, winning 48 out of 70 seats and ending AAP’s rule. Kejriwal’s AAP managed 22 seats, while Congress failed to win any for the third consecutive term.
