Delhi based researcher breaks Guinness World Record for fastest trip on Delhi Metro

A remarkable achievement by Shashank Manu, a freelance researcher hailing from Delhi, has garnered international attention as he secured a Guinness World Record for completing a journey to all metro stations in Delhi within a staggering 15 hours.

Shashank, an avid globetrotter who has explored more than 70 countries, etched his name in history as the fastest traveler on the Delhi Metro in the year 2021. Recently, in 2023, the Guinness World Record certificate was presented to him, culminating his long-awaited recognition.

This delayed acknowledgment was primarily a consequence of the previous record holder, Prafull Singh, whose excursion spanned approximately 16 hours. However, after persistent efforts spanning several years, Shashank successfully persuaded the Guinness Team to rightfully bestow the record upon him.


Employing a shrewd strategy, he acquired a "one-day tourist card" from the conveniently located Delhi Metro stations to facilitate his monumental journey. With a prompt commencement at 8:30 AM, Shashank embarked on the Blue Line, traversing more than 348 km before reaching his final destination at Brigadier Hoshiar Singh Station on the Green Line.


Endowed with an unwavering desire to surpass the previous record, Shashank patiently awaited the easing of COVID restrictions to embark on his ambitious mission.
