A new co-operative game called Dear Passengers is generating buzz online after its first trailer introduced players to the chaotic world of running what is described as the world's worst airline.

Developed by Flexus, the PC title puts players in charge of an airline crew tasked with keeping flights running despite crumbling aircraft, difficult passengers and a series of unpredictable mid-air disasters. The trailer, released on July 14, has already attracted millions of views across social media, with many gamers saying they cannot wait to try it with friends.

What is Dear Passengers about?

Dear Passengers is a multiplayer co-op game where friends work together to manage a failing airline. Players are responsible for both flying the aircraft and keeping passengers under control while dealing with unexpected emergencies.

The gameplay includes selecting risky passengers and questionable cargo for larger rewards, surviving severe weather and coping with exaggerated ragdoll physics that send luggage, food and even passengers flying across the cabin.

Crew members also have different responsibilities. While some players remain in the cockpit, others manage the cabin. During emergencies, players may need to step outside the aircraft mid-flight to repair damage or even fend off airborne pirates using a machine gun.

According to the game's Steam description, players become the crew of "the world's worst airline", where the aircraft is falling apart, the cargo is illegal and passenger safety is far from the top priority.

What is 'friendslop'?

Dear Passengers has been widely described as the latest example of the growing "friendslop" trend.

The term is commonly used by gaming communities to describe colourful, low-cost multiplayer games designed around chaotic co-op gameplay with friends. These titles often feature unpredictable physics, simple mechanics and humorous situations that create memorable moments.

Games such as R.E.P.O., Peak and RV There Yet helped popularise the genre after gaining viral popularity and building dedicated online communities.

The trailer has quickly taken off online, racking up millions of views and filling comment sections with excited gamers already planning their next co-op session. Many said Dear Passengers looks like the perfect game to enjoy with friends, thanks to its over-the-top chaos and unpredictable gameplay.

"Have to get the boys to play this, oh my gosh," one user wrote. Another declared, "I love friendslop. I'm totally into it. The best video game genre out there." Others praised the game's risk-and-reward mechanics, while one fan perfectly captured the mood with: "This looks absolutely ridiculous. Sign me up. It looks fun."
