As per a report of The Telegraph, The ill-fated incident unfolded when Vipin's friends visited him on Thursday. During a lighthearted banter, they decided to place a wager on who could devour the greatest number of momos.

They went to a nearby momo stall where Vipin wolfed down 10 momos and suddently fell unconsious, as per the report. His friends initially thought Vipin is fooling them. However, as his condition worsened, they quickly realized the gravity of the situation. Alarmed, they rushed him to a nearby private hospital in a desperate bid to save his life. "Vipin ate a large number of momos after accepting a challenge with his friends. His friends took him to a private hospital after he fell unwell. The doctors there declared him dead," Shashi Ranjan Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Thave, was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.
