Deadly Chinese manjha act caught on camera: Varanasi biker narrowly escapes as string catches his neck, leaves shoulder cut

A biker had a narrow escape from a potentially fatal accident in Varanasi after a banned glass-coated kite string, commonly known as Chinese manjha, became entangled around his neck while he was riding.

Vlogger Captures Aftermath of the Incident

The incident came to light after Shahabuddin Ansari shared a vlog documenting the moments following the accident. In the video, Ansari explained that the sharp string suddenly wrapped around his neck as he was riding his bike, creating a dangerous situation.

Helmet and Safety Gear Prove Life-Saving

Ansari credited his helmet and safety gear for preventing serious injury. He stated that if he had not been wearing a helmet, the glass-coated string could have directly cut into his neck. While he escaped major harm, he suffered a minor cut on his right shoulder, and the abrasive string damaged the strap of his helmet.


The video also shows the hazardous string stretched across his path, highlighting the risk it posed to passing motorists.

“So in the video you are watching, I narrowly escaped an accident because of manjha. By God's grace, nothing happened to me, but look at this,” he says in the video. He then pointed towards his shoulders and showed his shirt that had been torn.
