Daughter says she missed her father, he travelled 28 hours for one day with her; netizens left emotional

A daughter’s message saying she missed her father turned into an unexpected reunion the very next morning. The woman, who uses the Instagram handle @apple.kaivalya, said her father travelled for 14 hours to see her, stayed for eight hours and then made the return journey, despite having work commitments to manage.

She shared a video describing how she had messaged him the previous night to say she was thinking about him. When she opened her door the following morning, she found him standing outside with a backpack.

He travelled 28 hours for an eight-hour visit

According to the woman’s account, her father spent 14 hours travelling to reach her and another 14 hours on the way back. His visit lasted only eight hours, during which he also continued handling work calls.

Despite the short stay, he used the time to take care of everyday things. He cleaned her dishes, took her out and brought her favourite food.

Before leaving, he asked her to stay happy and reminded her that he was always with her.

The woman said her father had not come because she had specifically asked him to visit. Instead, she viewed his decision as his way of showing her that she was never alone.

‘Sometimes parents just show up’

Alongside the video, she reflected on the significance of the unexpected visit. She wrote that she had said she wanted to see her father, and he simply came.

She said he travelled for 14 hours, spent the day with her and did countless small things without being asked.

Her broader message was that parents do not always need to repeatedly say they are there for their children. Sometimes, she suggested, their actions communicate it more clearly than words.

“Sometimes parents don't say they are always there for their children. Instead, they simply show up,” she wrote, adding that such moments can be enough to remind someone that they are never truly alone.

One user recalled struggling with college examinations while completing a bachelor’s degree in India. The commenter said they had accumulated too many arrears and were considering quitting college while feeling isolated and emotionally overwhelmed.
