Candidates who have already successfully completed and submitted their CTET applications do not need to apply again. CBSE issued the public notice on August 25, citing the Supreme Court's emphasis on giving eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to fulfil the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed Teacher Eligibility Test qualification.
CTET 2026 registration deadline
The reopened application portal will remain available until September 1, 2026. The earlier registration window for the 22nd edition of CTET was open from May 11 to June 10, 2026.The fresh opportunity is intended for eligible candidates who could not complete their applications during the earlier period. CBSE has advised such candidates to submit their forms within the reopened registration window.
How to apply for CTET September 2026
Candidates can apply online through the official CTET website by following these steps:- Visit the official CTET website at ctet.nic.in.
- Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link for CTET September 2026.
- Complete the online registration with the required personal and contact details.
- Fill in the application form and select the preferred papers and examination cities.
- Upload scanned copies of the photograph and signature in the prescribed size and format.
- Pay the application fee through debit card, credit card or net banking.
- Submit the form and download or print the confirmation page for future reference.

Revised CTET exam date to be announced
CBSE has not yet announced the revised examination date for the 22nd edition of CTET. The public notice states that the revised date will be announced after the extended application portal closes.The reopening of the application window follows the Supreme Court's judgment in Review Petition (Civil) Diary No. 53434/2025 in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025. The court emphasised providing eligible teachers with a reasonable opportunity to fulfil the prescribed TET qualification requirement.
21 editions of CTET conducted so far
CBSE has conducted 21 editions of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test to date. The result of the 21st edition was declared on March 30, 2026.The latest notice applies only to candidates who did not use the previous application opportunity. Candidates who have already submitted their applications successfully are not required to file a fresh application.
