CSIR UGC NET June 2026 answer key out: How to check, direct link, objection window, fee and steps to challenge

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional UGC NET June 2026 answer key for 84 subjects, allowing candidates to check the official answers against their recorded responses. The objection window opened on August 16 and will remain available until 11:59 PM on August 18, 2026.

Candidates who appeared for the June session can access the provisional answer key and their recorded responses through the official UGC NET website. Those who find an answer incorrect can submit challenges within the prescribed objection period.

How candidates can challenge the UGC NET answer key

Candidates can raise objections against the provisional answer key by following these steps:

1. Visit the official UGC NET website at ugc.nta.nic.in.
2. Open the link for the UGC NET June 2026 provisional answer key or answer key challenge.
3. Log in using the required credentials.
4. Check the provisional answer key and recorded responses.
5. Select the question against which the objection is being raised.
6. Provide the required supporting details.
7. Pay the processing fee of Rs 200 per question through Debit Card, Credit Card or Net Banking.
8. Review the submitted challenge and complete the process.
9. Save the confirmation page for future reference.

UGC NET answer key objection fee

Candidates must pay a processing fee of Rs 200 for every question they challenge. NTA has stated that the fee will be refunded in full if the challenge is accepted by the subject experts.

When an objection is accepted, the resulting correction will be applied uniformly to all candidates who appeared for that subject. Candidates therefore do not need to submit the same challenge more than once.

UGC NET expected score calculation

The UGC NET examination awards two marks for every correct answer, with no negative marking for incorrect responses.

Candidates can estimate their expected score using the formula:

Expected score = Number of correct answers × 2

The calculated score is only an estimate and may change after NTA reviews the challenges submitted by candidates and finalises the answer key.

What happens after the UGC NET objection window closes?

Once the challenge window ends, NTA will examine the objections with the assistance of subject experts before finalising the answer key.

The agency has stated that no challenge or grievance concerning the answer key will be considered after the objection window closes or once the result has been declared.

According to the latest NTA notice, the provisional answer keys for English, Commerce and Sociology will be addressed separately later today.
