The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the Class 12 board examination results for 2026 shortly, ending the wait for lakhs of students across India and abroad. Once declared, students will be able to download their digital marksheets through multiple platforms including the CBSE results portal, DigiLocker, UMANG app and SMS services.

The Board is likely to upload the result links directly on its websites without holding any press conference. Students will need their roll number, school number and admit card ID to access the scorecards online.

Students are advised to keep a copy of the provisional marksheet saved on their phones or computers until original documents are issued by schools.

How to check CBSE result on DigiLocker

CBSE students can also access their marksheets through DigiLocker. The platform stores official academic documents digitally and allows students to download them anytime.

To check results on DigiLocker:

1. Open the DigiLocker app or website
2. Sign in using registered mobile number
3. Select the CBSE section
4. Enter required credentials
5. Download the marksheet and certificates

UMANG app and SMS option also available

Apart from websites, CBSE has kept result access available through the UMANG mobile app. Students who face internet issues can also use the SMS facility to receive their results.

The Board introduced multiple result platforms in recent years after heavy traffic often slowed down websites on result day.

When will CBSE Class 12 result be announced?

CBSE has not officially confirmed the result date and time yet. However, based on previous trends and the expected timeline shared by exam controller Sanyam Bhardwaj, the Class 12 results are likely between May 11 and May 17, 2026.

In the past few years, the Board has usually announced results around May 12 or May 13.

What students should know about passing marks

Students must secure at least 33 per cent marks to pass the CBSE Class 12 examinations. As per CBSE rules, grace marks may be awarded if a student falls short by one or two marks.

The Board can also consider grace marks if a paper is found unusually difficult or contains questions outside the prescribed syllabus.

Digital evaluation helped speed up results

CBSE has been using the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for evaluating Class 12 answer sheets. Under this process, teachers check scanned answer copies digitally through a dedicated platform.
