The reptile was spotted in a residential colony near the old bus stand in the early hours of Sunday, and videos on social media showed people on their terraces watching its slow progress through a water-logged narrow lane.
Authorities were informed, a rescue team from the nearby Madhav National Park was called in, and the crocodile was captured after an effort lasting more than an hour.
