Crocodile enters residential colony in Madhya Pradesh, videos go viral

Panic gripped a residential colony in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district after a crocodile entered a residential colony amid heavy rainfall in the state.

The reptile has been rescued and released in a nearby lake.

Meanwhile, videos of the unique visitor have since gone viral on social media. One video shows the reptile in a narrow lane, while another shows it floating into the colony inundated by the flood water.


The clips also shows the forest officials in action, attempting to capture the animal as it moves from one door to another.

According to police officials, the crocodile was first spotted by the locals near a bus stand on Sunday.

The rescue operation was led by a team of foresters from the Madhav National Park. It took the officials an hour to capture the reptile. The eight-foot crocodile was later released in Sankhya Sagar Lake.

Rain has battered several parts of Madhya Pradesh. The IMD has also issued an alert for the Jabalpur, Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions of the state for the next 24 hours.

Schools in Bhopal and Narmadapuram have been close due to the heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the authorities in Hoshangabad, Harda, Narsinghpur, Dewas, Raisen and districts have been directed to stay vigilant due to water discharge from the dams.
