This was confirmed by none other than McGregor himself. The celebrity MMA fighter today took to Twitter to reveal that he has a preliminary agreement with the Ambani family to fight a boxing exhibition match in India.
"The rumors of a bout with topurio are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon," he wrote.
Last month, a Dublin jury found the former mixed martial arts fighter liable in an assualt and rape case. The jury awarded plaintiff Nikita Hand nearly 250,000 Euros (USD 257,000) in damages.
The assault occurred in a Dublin hotel penthouse in December 2018. Hand testified McGregor forced himself on her and threatened her. McGregor denied the allegations, claiming the encounter was consensual.
Hand expressed relief following the verdict and thanked her supporters.
“She has given me so much strength and courage over the last six years throughout this nightmare to keep on pushing forward for justice,” she said. “I want to show (her) and every other girl and boy that you can stand up for yourself if something happens to you, no matter who the person is, and justice will be served.”
