Confirmed: Pankaj Tripathi to play Atal Bihari Vajpayee in biopic

The biography of the former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is being directed by Ravi Jadhav, well known for his work in Marathi films. Actor Pankaj Tripathi will play the role of the late politician, who was famous for his powerful speeches and pauses. On Friday, the film's producers confirmed the news.

The film, titled Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon Yeh Desh Rehna Chahiye-Atal, will be co-produced by Sandeep Singh and Vinod Bhanushali. Utkarsh Naithani has previously written for popular series such as Saraswatichandra, Mahadev, and the film Swatantra Veer Savarkar.

Pankaj is thrilled to be a part of the film and says it is an honour to play the role of such a great leader and politician on screen. Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee was much more than a politician and a true statesman; he was also a great writer and a well-known poet.


Director Ravi Jadhav, who has already won national prizes for his films Mitraa, Balgandharva, and Natrang, intended to live up to the audience's expectations with such an intriguing narrative at hand. Bhanushali Studios Limited and Legend Studios will present the film, which is being produced by Sandeep Singh, Vinod Bhanushali, Kamlesh Bhanushali, and Sam Khan in partnership with 70MM Talkies and co-produced by Zeeshan Ahmad and Shiv Sharma.
