Complaint over iPad price reaches civil aviation ministry. See response

A complaint against "unfair trade practices" of Amazon reached the Ministry of Civil Aviation instead of the Ministry of Civil Supplies

A user on Twitter complaining about the "unfair trade practices" of Amazon ended up tagging the Ministry of Civil Aviation by mistake, and the humorous response of the ministry is winning the Internet.

Ankur Sharma, the user, posted a screenshot of the iPad Pro 11 inch page which showed it with a starting price of ₹1,76,900. It showed the product was being offered for ₹ 67,390 after a huge discount.

"iPad Pro 11 inch was never of ₹ 1,76,900. @MoCA_GoI pl take action for unfair trade practices," mistakenly tagging the handle of the civil aviation ministry. He may have meant to approach the iPad Pro 11 inch was never of ₹ 1,76,900. @MoCA_GoI pl take action for unfair trade practices."

The gist of that complaint was that the product was never ever priced at ₹1,76,900 and that Amazon used an inflated price to give the impression of a huge discount.

The reply was witty. "We intend to help, but we are busy providing affordable air travel to India," the ministry tweeted back.

There was instant reaction on the social media platform, many liking or retweeting the response, while other chipped in with banter of their own

With domestic air fares being what they are now, some used the chance to take a jibe at the ministry.

As for Ankur Sharma, Amazon responded to his complaint asking for more information.

"Thank you for flagging this. Kindly help us with the link of the product you're referring to so that we can get this reviewed by our concerned team internally," Amazon replied.
