The notice further reads, "For Class IX to XII in all Government, Government-Aided and Recognised Private Schools of UT Chandigarh, till the 20th of January 2024 the schools shall open for students not earlier than 9:30 AM and close no later than 4:00 PM. The schools while regulating the timing for these classes must take into account the cold spell especially early morning and late evening and the time taken by the children for their commute to and from school.
Providing respite to the school staff, the announcement additionally permits schools to adjust the timings of their staff as needed.
Amid the ongoing cold wave in the northern part of India, the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Punjab and parts of Haryana for the next 48-72 hours.
Delhi schools:
The Directorate of Education under the Delhi government has announced the resumption of physical classes for all students in government, government-aided, and recognized private schools. "Effective from January 15, 2024 (Monday), this directive applies to students across all levels, including Nursery, KG, and Primary classes," read the notification.
As schools prepare to welcome students back to physical classrooms, it is anticipated that these measures will contribute to a smooth transition while prioritizing the health and safety of the educational community.
