CNG price today: Check new rates in Delhi, Mumbai and other states after petrol and diesel price hike

India’s fuel cost burden has increased further, with CNG prices being raised by ₹2 per kg in several areas after the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices. The increase comes amid ongoing disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important crude oil transit routes.

CNG prices in Mumbai

CNG prices in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region have been increased by ₹2 per kg, with the new retail rate now standing at ₹84 per kg from Thursday. The hike is likely to directly impact auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi operators, and daily commuters who rely on CNG-powered transport.

CNG prices in Delhi have been increased by Rs 2 per kg, taking the rate from Rs 77.09 per kg to Rs 79.09 per kg.


The hike comes just hours after Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) raised petrol and diesel prices by Rs 3 per litre.

Fuel prices across India have been under increasing pressure in recent weeks due to rising global crude oil prices and disruptions in shipping routes through the Gulf region.

Earlier in the day, the Centre increased petrol prices by Rs 3.14 per litre and diesel prices by Rs 3.11 per litre. Following the hike, petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 97.77 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 90.67 per litre.

The ongoing crisis has prompted several shipping companies to reroute vessels or delay cargo operations, while India has stepped up naval surveillance and energy security efforts to protect fuel supplies. Although some LPG shipments have reached Indian ports under naval escort, concerns over future supplies continue to fuel market uncertainty.
