The film, directed by Rohit Shetty and starring Ranveer Singh, got off to a slow start. While the industry had pinned high hopes on this film, it has underperformed at the box office so far. Cirkus' collection, was a letdown at Christmas. Actually, collections for the film essentially remained flat, while big centres and multiplexes did not register any significant gain.

According to trade figures, the film's third-day box office collection was roughly Rs 7.30 crore to 7.45 crore. Because this genre has a stable audience, it did not receive much support in terms of trending. Cirkus, is also up against Avatar: The Way Of Water, which is doing exceptionally well at the box office in India.

Ranveer Singh has previously failed with ‘83’ and YRF's ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’. Following the failure of his last two films, the actor felt confident about making up for those losses with his performance in Rohit Shetty's entertainment extravaganza ‘Cirkus’. However, based on the box office collections, the movie did not appear to impress the public. After a weak start, the third-day figures are in, and they are not encouraging.

Cirkus earned Rs 6.25 crore on its first day, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, which is a low figure for a holiday movie. It earned Rs 6.40 crore on Day 2, which was again a tepid development. The third day saw a 1 crore increase, which is not good for a multi-starrer movie starring famous actors.

‘Cirkus’ produced and directed by Rohit Shetty, and presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, and T-Series. It stars Ranveer Singh in two roles. Other actors in the film's cast are Siddhartha Jadhav, Sanjay Mishra, Murli Sharma, Sulbha Arya, and Vrajesh Hirjee. Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn made cameo appearances in the movie as well. Cirkus is based on ‘Angoor’, a remake of the 1968 Hindi film ‘Do Dooni Chaar’. Cirkus debuted on December 23, 2022 in theatres.
