Christmas takes over India, one city at a time, starting with Mizoram, Shimla, and Bengaluru

Christmas 2023: Christmas is here, and churches all over India are ready for the big day. They're shining with lots of bright colors and decked out in Christmas decorations, making everything look really cheerful.

The streets of Aizawl in Mizoram are transformed into a dazzling spectacle of lights and decorations. The locals spare no effort in adorning the cityscape with vibrant colours and cheerful ornaments.

Children at Mumbai's Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children are joyously celebrating within the hospital walls, spreading happiness through lively dance and festive cheer, all adorned with adorable Christmas caps.


In Chandigarh, the Tricity Churches' Association has organised an early Christmas celebration to spread some cheer.

Churches in Coimbatore are glowing and decorated, and there are lively parades with drums and music.


Jabalpur's Christian community is getting ready with lots of enthusiasm. They believe that Christmas is about the arrival of Lord Jesus for the salvation of humanity.

Bengaluru is buzzing with excitement, while St. Mary's Church in Kalaburagi city is also all lit up and looking beautiful.

As families and friends travel to be together, Shimla is becoming the new favourite spot for Christmas and New Year celebrations. There's a big parade with drums and music, and the Christian community is joining in with joy.


Not every country takes time off for Christmas, but many homes have Christmas trees and decorations leading up to the big day. Workplaces have Christmas parties, and people exchange gifts, sing carols, and have a good time together.
