Chris Martin surprises fans at Las Vegas karaoke bar, teases new Coldplay album ahead of India concert

Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, gave fans in Las Vegas an unexpected treat last weekend, not just during his scheduled performance at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival, but also with an impromptu visit to a local karaoke bar. Taking a break from Coldplay’s ongoing Music of the Spheres tour, Martin stopped by Dino’s Lounge, a popular karaoke spot, and stunned the crowd with a surprise performance of a new song from Coldplay’s upcoming album Moon Music.

A Night Out at Dino’s Lounge

Dressed in an oversized grey suit, a blonde wig, and rectangular glasses, Martin entered Dino’s Lounge virtually unrecognizable. He performed "All My Love," a song from the band's much-anticipated 10th studio album, due for release on October 4.



Fan videos captured the moment Martin took the stage with a red balloon in one hand and a microphone in the other, swaying slightly as he delivered the emotional ballad. At one point, he invited a woman from the crowd on stage, handing her the balloon while continuing the song. According to Billboard, Martin’s surprise visit was not just for fun but was part of filming for the "All My Love" music video.

The performance came just after his appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, where he played stripped-down versions of Coldplay’s popular hits, including "Yellow," "A Sky Full of Stars," "Viva la Vida," and "Hymn for the Weekend." Fans were also treated to a live performance of "We Pray," another new track from Moon Music, featuring guest artist Elyanna.

Moon Music and Coldplay’s Upcoming Plans

Coldplay’s upcoming album Moon Music is scheduled for release on October 4. As reported by Rolling Stone, the album includes singles like "feelslikeimfallinginlove" and will be followed by a busy schedule for the band. On October 5, Coldplay will appear as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze. This appearance will kick off a global tour promoting Moon Music, starting in Australia and New Zealand later this year.

The band will then head to India in January 2025 for three highly anticipated shows in Mumbai, marking a significant moment for Coldplay fans in the country. The India leg of the tour is part of the larger Music Of The Spheres World Tour, which will start in Melbourne on October 30, 2024, and end at London’s Wembley Stadium on August 31, 2025.

Indian Fans Struggle to Get Concert Tickets

While Chris Martin’s surprise Las Vegas karaoke performance thrilled local fans, Coldplay’s Indian fans had a different experience—one of frustration. As the band announced their 2025 concerts in Mumbai, demand for tickets skyrocketed, leaving many fans unable to secure seats. Ticket prices for the Mumbai concerts, which are set for January 18, 19, and 21, ranged from ₹2,500 to ₹35,000 for lounge access.

BookMyShow, the ticketing platform, saw an overwhelming response, with a virtual waitlist reaching 842,745 people. Many fans took to social media to express their disappointment. On Coldplay’s official Instagram post, which featured Martin’s karaoke performance of "All My Love," one Indian fan wrote, “Can't you just give your actual Indian fans a chance to see you witness you because currently all the non deserving resellers have your tickets.” Another frustrated fan commented, "India needs 30 more shows."

One of the common complaints was the issue of resellers purchasing tickets only to resell them at inflated prices. A fan expressed disappointment, writing, "It really hurts that I couldn't get a ticket to your Mumbai concert. most people bought them just to resell at a high price, and real fans like me missed out. hopefully next time." BookMyShow eventually issued a warning, advising fans to avoid unauthorized platforms that were selling fake tickets at inflated prices.

Coldplay’s Global Tour Schedule

Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour will continue through 2025, starting in Australia and New Zealand before moving to Asia and Europe.
