‘Chop you and seal you in drum’: Meerut woman’s ultimatum to her husband

In Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, a woman reportedly threatened her husband with dire consequences, warning she would chop him into pieces and seal them in a drum if he didn’t curb his drinking habits. The incident occurred in the Kanker Khera area and was reported to the police on Monday.

Police revealed that the husband is allegedly an alcoholic. The alarming threat, reportedly influenced by a recent high-profile murder case in Brahmpuri, has left the husband in shock.

A video of the victim, Bablu Kumar, has surfaced in which he recounts, “I woke up late in the morning, and my wife threatened to hit me with a brick. She then threw it at me, striking my head and causing an injury.” He further stated, “She also warned that she would cut me into pieces and seal me in a drum. When I left to file a complaint with the police, she arrived there before me, and my concerns were ignored.”


SHO Kanker Khera, Vinay Kumar, informed that “The victim underwent a medical examination. However, he chose not to file a complaint and left after reaching a mutual agreement.”

The couple, married for five years and parents to two children, reportedly had frequent disputes over the husband’s drinking problem. On Sunday night, he came home intoxicated, sparking a heated argument during which the wife allegedly bit his hand. The following morning, she struck him on the head with a brick, leaving him injured. Accompanied by his father, the husband later approached the police station, displaying visible wounds. Meanwhile, the wife accused him of wasting money on alcohol and neglecting household responsibilities.
