Chhattisgarh Horror: Woman Confesses to Killing Husband, Leaves Body in Home, Disappears
In a chilling incident from Chhattisgarh, a 40-year-old woman, identified as Mangrita, allegedly confessed to her 23-year-old newlywed daughter that she had killed her father and left his body at home. The call, which took place on 9 November from Korba, reportedly ended abruptly after the revelation, leaving the daughter in shock.

Mangrita, who works in Mumbai, had returned to her native village of Bhinjpur in Jashpur district a few months ago. Neighbours reported that she and her husband, Santosh Bhagat, 43, frequently quarrelled since her return.

Discovery of Body in Stroller: Family Finds Husband Dead Wrapped in Blanket

Following the distressing phone call, the daughter and her husband alerted relatives and rushed to Bhinjpur on 10 November. They reportedly discovered Bhagat’s body wrapped in a blanket inside a stroller. Bhagat’s elder brother immediately informed the police.

Jashpur Superintendent of Police, Shashimohan Singh, confirmed that the body was sent for autopsy. Preliminary reports suggest Bhagat suffered a fatal blow to the temple, inflicted with a sharp-edged weapon. Investigators also noted traces of bleeding from the nose and mouth.

Investigation Launched: Police Hunt for Woman Suspected of Murder

The police have registered a case under BNS Section 103(1) for murder and launched an active search for Mangrita. A team has been dispatched to Maharashtra, where she is believed to be, to trace her whereabouts.

According to the FIR, the couple had a serious argument on 7 November, which neighbours said continued into the following day. Police suspect that the murder occurred on the night of 8 November.

Neighbourhood in Shock: Domestic Disputes Turn Deadly

Residents of Bhinjpur described the couple as frequently quarrelling since Mangrita’s return. Many expressed disbelief over the severity of the incident, highlighting how domestic disputes can tragically escalate.

Police Statement and Next Steps in Case

Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding Mangrita’s location to come forward. Investigators continue to examine the sequence of events leading up to Bhagat’s death and are reviewing the family dynamics and prior disputes as part of the probe.
