Chemical warfare on my nose: Alex Stein targets Indians at Irving council meeting
Comedian Alex Stein made offensive remarks about Indians and Hindus at a Texas City Council meeting. He criticized demographic shifts and made derogatory comments about the Indian community. Stein also targeted an Indian-origin councilman with a d...

Stein said he works in Irving, a city he described as one he loves, where the Dallas Cowboys once played. However, he claimed he is now “scared” because of what he referred to as “chemical warfare” that his nose “can’t take,” alleging that Indians do not wear deodorant and saying his “nose is getting violated.”
He also recounted an incident involving an Uber driver mispronouncing “Valley Ranch” as “Bali Ranch,” stating that it was not surprising because Indians had “invaded” Texas cities. “Immigration without assimilation is invasion,” he said.
Addressing the issue of H-1B visas, Stein stated: “So unless y'all are gonna make deodorant half price or something, you'll really need to stand up for true citizens that were born and raised here. They're from here, and not people that are from Mumbai, India, coming here bringing their culture that we all really don't like. And I'm sick and tired of trying to pretend like I do.”
Stein then directed remarks at Indian-origin councilman Abdul Khabeer, saying: “So listen, Abdul Kabar (sic)....Are you going into a hot car suicide bomb at this meeting?” Abdul Khabeer is a Muslim who was born and raised in India.
Online reactions to video
After Stein shared the video, which contains abusive language, several comments posted in response were critical of the Indian community. One user wrote, “He's right and the apartment complexes look like a third world country. They have taken over. The City of Irving doesn't give a damn,” while another commented, “I lived on Hidden Ridge in Los Colinas in the 90's in the apartment complex there. Now it is full of Indians.”The Economic Times Business News App for the Latest News in Business, Sensex, Stock Market Updates & More.
