Prasanna Sankar, co-founder of a US-based HR company valued at $10 billion, has accused his wife of filing false cases against him amid their divorce proceedings. Sankar, currently in India, stated on social media that his wife, Dhivya Sashidhar, accused him of rape and child kidnapping after he discovered her alleged affair.

Allegations of Infidelity and False Charges

Sankar claimed that his wife had been in a relationship with Anoop Kuttysankaran for over six months. He stated that Anoop's wife had sent him messages and hotel booking details as evidence of the affair. "Me and my wife, Dhivya, were married for 10 years and we have a 9-year-old son. Recently our marriage broke down after I discovered she was having an affair, with a person named Anoop for 6+ mos," he posted on X.

Following this, Sankar alleged that Dhivya filed for divorce in the US to secure a larger financial settlement. He claimed she falsely accused him of domestic violence, rape, and distributing explicit content. However, he stated that police investigations cleared him of these allegations.

Custody Dispute Over Their Son

Sankar further accused his wife of abducting their son to the US in an attempt to strengthen her divorce case. "She then proceeded to abduct my child to the US to help with her divorce case. I filed an international child abduction case in the US. And the judge ruled in favor of me and asked to return the child," he said.

The couple later reached an understanding to share custody of their son and settle in Chennai. They signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) under which Sankar agreed to pay Dhivya Rs 9 crore and Rs 4.3 lakh per month as alimony and maintenance. As part of the agreement, Dhivya was required to deposit their child’s passport in a common locker. Sankar alleged that she refused to comply and instead sought more financial compensation by planning to file for divorce again in the US.

Police Involvement and Evasion

Sankar stated that when he refused to return their son until the passport was secured, Dhivya filed a kidnapping complaint against him. "She then chose to call the police and filed a kidnapping complaint against me. The police knocked on the door in the middle of the night before which I was able to escape with my son," he said.

He further claimed that the police tracked his location and searched his mother’s house, a friend’s residence, and his temporary accommodation. "My cell phone location, car, UPI, IP everything is being tracked by the cops. Illegally without any FIR. They went and seized the phone of a caretaker I paid 200 Rs to via UPI and hit the Airbnb where I was staying. Luckily got out before," he said.

Legal Action Pending

Sankar mentioned that he plans to file a legal petition to prevent harassment. Dhivya has not yet responded to these allegations.
