OpenAI acknowledges ChatGPT outage
OpenAI confirmed that it was aware of the disruption and said multiple services were affected, particularly within FedRAMP workspaces. In a status update, the company said: "We're currently experiencing issues FedRAMP Codex, workspace analytics, conversation search, searching for custom GPTs, ChatGPT user invites, and Compliance Log Platform download endpoint not working in FedRAMP workspaces."

The disruption impacted users attempting to access coding assistance through Codex, search for Custom GPTs, review workspace analytics, and use conversation search. ChatGPT user invitations and the Compliance Log Platform download endpoint were also affected in FedRAMP environments.
Core ChatGPT functionality restored
OpenAI later announced that core ChatGPT functionality had been restored, although some services continued to experience problems. The company said: "Core functionality has been restored but we are aware of known and ongoing issues in FedRAMP workspaces with Codex, workspace analytics, conversation search, searching for custom GPTs, ChatGPT user invites, and the Compliance Logs Platform download endpoint."
OpenAI added that its engineering teams are continuing to work on a complete fix. "We are working to resolve these issues and will share further updates we have more information available."
ChatGPT is a chatbot that has been designed by the Artificial Intelligence Research firm OpenAI. Earlier this month, OpenAI said that ChatGPT is entering a new phase, with its user base expanding and deepening beyond just the early adopters as artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly mainstream. In a new analysis based on anonymous and aggregated usage data, the company stated that some of the strongest growth is now coming from users aged 35 and above, while the gender gap among them continues to narrow. The findings suggest ChatGPT is reaching a more representative cross-section of the population, moving beyond the developers, students, and technology enthusiasts who drove its initial adoption. OpenAI stated that people are using ChatGPT for a variety of routine tasks, from writing and learning to planning and finding information. The company said this indicates that generative AI is becoming integrated into users' daily workflows instead of being treated as a novelty or an occasional productivity tool.
