One such example comes from health and wellness expert Simran Valecha, who recently shared her weight loss journey on Instagram. On December 13, Valecha revealed that she lost 10 kg while still enjoying ice cream, all thanks to a customized AI-powered Indian diet plan.
In her post, she shared the exact ChatGPT prompt she used to design her meal plan:
"I am [height] and I weigh [weight]. I want to lose weight in a sustainable manner. Can you please prepare an Indian diet chart for me that includes 3 main meals and 2–4 snacks.
I work [timing: ex. 9–6] job and spend [hours travelling] / I work from home. I workout in the [morning/evening/night].
My preferences for breakfast include [your preferences].
My preferences for lunch include [your preferences].
My preferences for dinner include [your preferences]."
Encouraging her followers to “steal” her prompt, Valecha explained that AI can simplify diet planning, but lasting results require more than just a meal chart. She highlighted four key factors essential for weight loss:
- Support to actually implement the diet, since every day looks different
- Guidance on eating out while dieting
- Someone to talk to when stress-eating strikes—like reaching for a brownie at 2 am
- Clear direction, since conflicting advice from so-called experts can be confusing
Valecha emphasized that combining AI with human support can create a sustainable path to weight management. She even invited followers to DM her for guidance from her mother, an ACE-certified nutritionist, to kickstart their 2025 fitness goals.
Commenting on the post, one Instagram user wrote, "It works and you can include any fruit or veggie and the chat got comes up with a plan. Thank you so much"
Readers, however, are advised to exercise caution, as ChatGPT should not be considered a replacement for certified dieticians.
