Chardham Yatra registration 2026 starts: Check online process, fees, temple opening dates, helicopter service charges

Pilgrims planning to visit the sacred Char Dham temples in Uttarakhand can now begin the registration process as the government has opened online registrations for the Chardham Yatra 2026. The registration process started at 7 am on March 6 through the official mobile application. The annual pilgrimage to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri will begin next month, with temple doors opening in phases starting April 19.

Authorities said offline registration will also be available for pilgrims shortly before the yatra begins. The Char Dham Yatra attracts lakhs of devotees every year and the state government has again made registration mandatory for better crowd management and safety.

Pilgrims can complete the Char Dham Yatra registration through the official mobile app or the tourism portal of the Uttarakhand government.


Here is the step-by-step process:

3. Enter personal details such as name, ID proof and travel dates.
   
   
4. Select the temple destinations you plan to visit.
   
   
5. Submit the form and download the registration confirmation.
   
   

Devotees must carry the registration slip and a valid ID proof during the pilgrimage.

Chardham Offline Registration Process

While most pilgrims prefer online registration, the government will also allow offline registration shortly before the pilgrimage begins.

According to an official statement issued here, offline registration will start on April 17, two days before the yatra begins.

Helicopter services are available for pilgrims travelling to Kedarnath, especially for elderly devotees and those with limited time.

Prices usually vary depending on the route and operator. Typical fares may range between ₹6,000 and ₹9,000 per person for a one-way trip, while round-trip packages may cost more depending on demand and availability.

Pilgrims can book helicopter services through authorised operators once bookings open for the 2026 season.
