Pakistan players Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, and Fakhar Zaman was seen playing table tennis with Afghanistan’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, showing Rashid Khan paired with Haris Rauf against Shaheen Afridi’s team. Fakhar Zaman was also present, watching the match. Shaheen Afridi, who captains Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), shares the franchise squad with Rauf and Rashid.

Haris Rauf declared fit for Champions Trophy 2025

Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan confirmed that Haris Rauf has fully recovered from his recent injury and is ready for the tournament. Rauf had sustained an injury during a tri-series, raising concerns about his availability.


“Haris Rauf is bowling in rhythm and is completely fit now. He himself is feeling much better and we are all optimistic about his contributions in the Champions Trophy. He has been working hard on his fitness and we can see the positive results. We are hopeful that Haris will play a crucial role in the tournament. He has proven himself as a valuable asset to the team, and we are excited to see him back at full fitness,” Rizwan said.

Pakistan hosts an ICC event after 29 years

Pakistan is hosting an ICC event for the first time since 1996. Rizwan acknowledged the significance of this moment and urged the nation to enjoy the occasion.

“A global event has come to Pakistan after 29 years so I think the whole nation should enjoy this historic occasion. Our country has suffered enough and for a long time, but we have also won during this phase like the 2017 Champions Trophy and the 2009 Twenty20 World Cup,” he said.

Pakistan vs New Zealand

Pakistan will begin their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign against New Zealand on February 19. The team will then play against India on February 23 before facing Bangladesh in their final group-stage match on February 27.
