CBSE issues strict orders on use of ChatGPT during class 10 and 12 board exams

According to instructions issued by the board ahead of the exams, mobile phones, ChatGPTs, and other electronic devices will not be permitted in the examination hall.

CBSE has stated that the use of AI-powered ChatGPT during the current board exams is strictly prohibited, and students who are caught using the platform will face consequences. Students and other users can use the viral chatbot to get answers to complex questions in seconds. The AI-powered ChatGPT can also solve maths problems.

The CBSE board exams for Class 12 and 10 began today. The use of electronic devices inside the exam hall is already prohibited by the board. However, it is now expressly forbidden to use ChatGPT inside board exam halls.

Officials announced on Tuesday that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had forbidden the use of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence-based programme, in the upcoming Class 10, and 12 board exams. "Mobile phones, ChatGPT, and other electronic devices will not be permitted in the examination hall," the board stated ahead of the exams.


The central education board warns students against using unethical methods to pass exams. "You should not engage in any unfair practice," says the admission card for the exams. If you are discovered, you will be charged with Unfair Means (UFM) Activity and action will be taken in accordance with the board's rules."

This is not the first time that ChatGPT has caused concern among educational authorities. There have been numerous cases where ChatGPT has passed multiple exams with flying colours. According to some reports, students are already using ChatGPT to complete their homework.
