CBSE admits errors possible in Class 12 answer sheet evaluation; Check dates to access answer sheets, apply for verification and re-evaluation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has admitted that minor errors may occur during the evaluation of Class XII board examination answer sheets. CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj said such possibilities exist considering the board assesses nearly 1.25 crore answer scripts every year.

Speaking to ANI after the announcement of the CBSE Class XII results, Bhardwaj informed that students will be able to access copies of their evaluated answer sheets between May 19 and May 22 through the official CBSE process. The Class XII results declared earlier this week recorded an overall pass percentage of 85.20%.

CBSE Says Transparent Evaluation Process in Place

During the ANI interview, Bhardwaj stated that the board follows a transparent assessment system and has proper mechanisms to correct mistakes reported by students.

“We evaluate approximately 1.25 crore answer scripts; there is a possibility that an error may occur somewhere,” Bhardwaj said.

He explained that students would first receive copies of their evaluated answer sheets so they could review them thoroughly before applying for verification or corrections.

“The CBSE is an institution that works in the best interest of the students, and we operate with complete transparency,” he said.

Students Can Apply for Corrections From May 26

According to the CBSE Controller, students who notice discrepancies in their evaluated answer sheets can apply for re-evaluation or correction from May 26 to May 29.

“If any error is detected, and if our panel of experts confirms that an error indeed exists, that error will be rectified immediately,” Bhardwaj told ANI.

CBSE Advises Students to Use Official Website Only

Bhardwaj also urged students to depend only on the official CBSE website for authentic updates and information. He cautioned that unofficial sources may sometimes circulate inaccurate details.
