CBSE 2027 exam timetable PDF: Check the latest Class 10, 12 board date schedule update, how to download and more

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to publish the timetable for its 2027 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in the coming weeks, although the board has not announced an official release date. Students preparing for the examinations can check the date sheet PDF on the official website, cbse.gov.in, once it is released. As per the board’s examination schedule information, the annual exams are expected to take place during February, March and April 2027.

The timetable will help students organise their preparation, set revision targets and plan their study schedules around the dates of individual papers. The gaps between examinations can also help candidates decide how to distribute their revision time across subjects.

CBSE date sheet 2027: When was the timetable released last year?

For the previous examination cycle, CBSE published a tentative date sheet on September 24. However, no corresponding release date has been officially confirmed for the 2027 schedule.

Students should rely on announcements published through the board’s official website rather than unverified dates circulating online. The timetable will provide the examination dates and other subject-wise details needed by candidates in both classes.

What will the CBSE exam timetable 2027 include?

The board’s examination-related announcements are expected to provide details for the main Class 10 and Class 12 examinations, along with information on other examination arrangements where applicable. Students should look out for updates concerning:

• The overall schedule for the 2027 board examinations.
• Subject-wise dates for the Class 10 and Class 12 main examinations.
• Examination arrangements for eligible Class 12 students involved in sports.
• The timeline for the second Class 10 board examination.
• Class 12 supplementary examination dates.

The board may also provide information about the number of candidates expected to appear for the examinations. For the 2026 cycle, CBSE had estimated that around 45 lakh students would take examinations across Classes 10 and 12 in 204 subjects.

CBSE Class 10 second board exam: What students should know

CBSE introduced a second board examination for Class 10 from the 2026 academic session, following recommendations under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The arrangement provides eligible students with an additional opportunity to improve their performance, alongside the main examination.

Students should check the official 2027 notification for the applicable schedule and eligibility details rather than assume that all candidates will follow the same examination route.

Will the CBSE exam pattern change in 2027?

CBSE has stated that the question paper design and assessment pattern will remain unchanged for the 2026-27 academic session. The passing requirements will also continue to follow the criteria applicable during the 2025-26 academic year.

Candidates preparing for the 2027 board examinations should therefore continue following the prescribed syllabus and existing assessment guidelines unless the board issues a fresh notification. The official date sheet will clarify when each examination is scheduled to take place.
