CAT 2022: All you want to know about notification and MBA entrance exam this year
The notification for CAT 2022 will be out this month and the entrance exam will be conducted in the last week of November.

CAT is conducted by IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, and IIM Indore, on a rotational basis. Last year, the entrance exam was conducted by IIM Ahmedabad after a gap of five years. This year, IIM Bangalore shall be in charge of conducting the exam. Before the detailed notification for IIM is out, the name of the institute holding the exam will be confirmed.
To appear for CAT, the general category applicant must have 50% marks in graduation, and the PWD or ST/SC shall have a minimum of 45%. Moreover, the candidates in the final year of their graduation waiting for their results can also apply. The application fees vary for the general and SC/ST students. 2,200 INR will be the application fee for the general students, whereas 1,100 INR will be for the ST/SC and PWD applicants. Also, there is no upper age limit to take the exam.
As per the revised exam pattern introduced last year, CAT 2022 will feature a total of 66 questions distributed into three sections – Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA). The duration of the exam is 120 minutes. For every correct answer, the candidate will get three marks. There will also be a negative marking of 1 mark per incorrect answer.
Candidates, who wish to give CAT exam, are advised to solve previous year's question papers to get familiar with the type of questions asked. More than two lakhs applicants apply for this exam. Therefore, the competition for clearing it is pretty high.
