Canva faces outage, social media users create hilarious memes

Popular designing platform Canva faced an outage on Tuesday. The website and the app disabled several users of in India from editing or downloading their designs.

Within minutes, it became a topic of concern on social media, where users reported widespread issues with both the Canva application and website. The outage created problems for those who depend on Canva for their design needs, including professionals, marketers, and content creators.



Canva said on X , asking the users to remain patient while they resolve the issue stating, "We’re on it! We’re aware some people are having trouble accessing Canva. We're working as quickly as we can to get things back up and running. For updates, visit http://status.canva.com. We really appreciate your patience!"


Reports of the platform being down emerged across the country, indicating that the problem is widespread. It also showed on Downdetector, an online platform that monitors service outages. Hundreds of users registered a complain with Downdetector. According to the website's data, 83 percent of the reports indicate issues with accessing Canva's website, while 14 percent of users report difficulties with the mobile app.

Apart from India, outages were reported from the US, the UK, Australia and Canada.

The complaints peaked at 2.57 pm, according to Down Detector. The outage affected Canva website as well as its mobile application.

Users faced different issues. Some were unable to edit their designs, while others face difficulties downloading their completed projects. This disruption has brought several workflows to a halt, creating a ripple effect of delays and inefficiencies.


Canva was running by 4:38 pm, but the company did not mention the reason behind the issue.

Social media users, however, had their fun with memes while waiting for the application to resolve the bug and restore the services. Many also turned to alternative tools and platforms to try and manage their design tasks.
