Canadian musician Grimes declares Mark Zuckerberg 'underqualified' to run Metaverse

Canadian singer-songwriter Grimes, Elon Musk's ex-girlfriend seemed unimpressed with Mark Zuckerberg's viral metaverse images and called him 'wildly underqualified' to run metaverse in a tweet. She expressed her disdain over Zuckerberg's plans to expand the popular social media site Facebook into a metaverse pioneer.

She took to Twitter, writing, "If Zuck 'oversees the Metaverse' it is dead and people who care about art and culture are building something else. Also this is bad art."

Grimes also shared the image of Zuckerberg's metaverse avatar and referred to it on Twitter saying, "The quality of this image alone speaks to how wildly under-qualified he is to build alternate reality, literally every indie game looks better."




Facebook has been undergoing a major rebrand after Zuckerberg directed a companywide shift toward the metaverse last fall. Facebook's corporate name was also changed to Meta, as the embattled social media platform deals with a series of scandals over privacy laws, business practices and internal policies.

Mark Zuckerberg had posted the image Grimes was talking about, last week. The response however was not what they had expected. Days later, he even shared a different version of the avatar.
