'Buzdil' PM can’t even say Modi’s name: Pakistan MP blasts Shehbaz Sharif, exposes army-backed government in fiery speech
Amid rising tensions with India, Pakistan's Parliament witnessed heated debates as MPs criticised Prime Minister Sharif's response to recent military conflicts. Shahid Khattak accused Sharif of inaction and questioned the government's commitment, ...

One of the strongest criticisms came from Shahid Khattak, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and MP from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the session, he accused Prime Minister Sharif of staying silent and not showing courage. "Not even one statement came against India," he said angrily. "When your leader is a buzdil (coward) who cannot even say Modi's name, what message are you giving to the soldier standing at the border?"
He went on to expose what he called the "military-run government", saying, “Those sitting in the front have properties abroad. They will run away to London, some will go to Dubai, some have homes in Europe. But we have to live in this country. This land is ours.”
He added, “The Pakistani nation is not with you. You should understand this.”
The outburst came after India carried out precision strikes under Operation Sindoor on May 7, in response to a deadly Pakistan-backed terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, which killed several civilians.
Indian officials confirmed that nine terror bases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) were targeted. These included locations linked to groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. India made it clear that military sites of Pakistan were not touched.
In response, Pakistan launched unprovoked attacks on Indian regions using both aerial and artillery weapons, which India successfully repelled. India then hit back, targeting military assets across Pakistan. This included destroying several drones and damaging Pakistan’s HQ-9 missile system near Lahore.
Pakistan later admitted one drone had crashed near Lahore, and that 12 more were taken down in cities such as Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Attock.
