BTS star Jin named Gucci's brand ambassador after completing mandatory military service in Korea

BTS member Jin has been appointed the new global brand ambassador for Gucci. This announcement was made by the Italian luxury brand on Wednesday, much to the delight of BTS fans around the world. Jin, who is 31 years old, joins a line-up of other renowned Korean celebrities representing the brand. According to Gucci’s creative director, Sabato De Sarno, Jin's distinctive style and magnetic personality make him a perfect fit for the brand. Jin, a 31-year-old Olympic torchbearer for South Korea at the 2024 Paris Olympics, is the oldest member of the popular K-pop group and was the first to complete his country's mandatory military service in June.

“His warm and kind personality is truly magnetic, and his style is simply unique. He is a generous and extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music, which makes us even more honored to share this journey with him,” Sabato De Sarno announced.



With this role, Jin joins other prominent Korean figures who are global ambassadors for Gucci. These include stars such as Hanni, Lee Jung Jae, Park Gyu Young, and Jay Park. Gucci is intent on expanding its footprint in the South Korean market and has planned the debut of its latest product titled 'Gucci Cultural Month' in Seoul on October 15, paying tribute to the country's rich culture.

Jin, the eldest member of BTS, completed his mandatory military enlistment in June 2024. Shortly after his release, he took on the prestigious role of Olympic torchbearer for South Korea in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Olympic Torch Relay concluded on July 26, and Jin was honored with the title 'Best Olympic Torch' moment after a two-week voting period. He outperformed global celebrities like Charles Leclerc, Halle Berry, Rafael Nadal, and Abhinav Bindra.

On the topic of Jin's recognition, the 2024 Paris Olympics commentary team highlighted the impact of this achievement through a special poll conducted via X.

In terms of his music career, Jin made his solo debut with the single "The Astronaut" in October 2022. Reports suggest that his long-anticipated solo album is expected to be released between October and December 2024, generating significant excitement among fans.
