BTS Arirang release time: After nearly four years without a full-group release, global K-pop act BTS is back with its fifth studio album Arirang, released on March 20 at 9:30 am IST. The comeback also brings a new music video, a large-scale live performance in Seoul, and a documentary release lined up within a week, signalling a full restart after the group’s military hiatus.

BTS Arirang album release and first music video

The album Arirang is now available for streaming, with physical copies open for pre-order in India and shipping set to begin from the release date. Alongside the album, BTS will release the music video for Swim on their official YouTube channel, marking their first visual drop as a group in years.

The tracklist spans multiple styles, featuring songs such as Body to Body, Hooligan, Aliens, FYA, 2.0, No. 29, Merry Go Round, NORMAL, Like Animals, they don’t know ’bout us, One More Night, Please, and Into the Sun.

What ‘Arirang’ stands for

The album title draws from Arirang, a traditional Korean folk song often called the country’s unofficial national anthem. The reference goes beyond nostalgia. The song is tied to the idea of han — a deep emotional mix of sorrow, longing, resilience and hope.

Recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in both North and South Korea, Arirang carries historical weight, which BTS appears to channel into its comeback narrative.

BTS Arirang Live Comeback Event Live Streaming

To mark their return, BTS will perform live at Gwanghwamun Square in a large public event. The concert will be streamed globally on Netflix on March 21 at 4:30 pm IST, a day after the album release.

The event is positioned as more than just a performance. It is being framed as a public signal that the group has resumed normal activities after completing mandatory military service.

BTS Comeback after 4 years

The group had paused its activities starting in 2022 as members enlisted one by one for South Korea’s compulsory military service, each serving around 18 months. The final member completed service last June, clearing the way for a full reunion.

Their agency has described the upcoming concert as a declaration of return, with fans across the world expected to tune in both physically and online.

BTS documentary release next

A documentary capturing the group’s comeback journey is also in the pipeline. Netflix released its trailer earlier this week, with the full film set to premiere on March 27.

The project aims to chronicle BTS’s transition from military life back to global pop stardom, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at the reunion.
