BSF Recruitment 2022: Total vacancies, eligibility, selection procedure and other details

Candidates need to have Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination from a recognized Board or University or equivalent to apply for the posts.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an advertisement inviting applications from interested candidates for 323 posts in the Border Security Force (BSF). This includes 312 HC Ministerial vacancies and 11 ASI Stenographer posts in the paramillitary force.

In a notification, the home ministry said that "the posts are combatised and purely temporary in nature but are likely to become permanent."

Note that of the 323 posts, 10 per cent vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen category in the respective Post/Category.


For ASI(Steno), the pay scale will be Rs. 29,200 - 92,300; while HC(Ministerial) has a pay scale of Rs. 25,500 - 81,100.

Eligibility

According to the notification, male candidates need to be 165 Cms tall, while the height requirement for female candidates is 155 Cms. Height requirement has been relaxed for candidates from hilly areas and ST category.

Selection Procedure

The written examination will consist of the following five parts, each with 20 marks: PART-I - Hindi/English Language; PART-II - General Intelligence ; PART-111 - Numerical Aptitude; PART-IV - Clerical Aptitude; and PART-V - Basic Computer Knowledge.

There will be one composite paper for one hour and forty minutes duration consisting of above five parts and will be “omr based objective type with multiple choice” or Computer Based Exam (CBE) which will be informed to all eligible candidates. Question paper will be bilingual, i.e printed in English and Hindi both. The minimum qualifying marks is 35 per cent for Unreserved/EWS category and 33 per cent for OBC/SC/ST categories.
