Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan informed that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Taking to Twitter, Pradhan said that he has been hospitalised as per doctor's advice and is in a healthy condition.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said he has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors. The Manipal hospital, where the 71-year-old leader of opposition in the state assembly is undergoing treatment, said he is "doing well" and is "stable currently". Siddaramaiah's son and MLA Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah said his father had a fever since Monday morning and was admitted to hospital in the night.

Karnataka's septuagenarian Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa is doing well at a private hospital where he was admitted on Sunday after testing Covid positive, an official said on Monday, reports IANS. "At present, Yediyurappa is doing well and is clinically stable. Appropriate treatment has been initiated as per protocols," a Manipal Hospital official said in a statement here. Yediyurappa, 77, and his daughter B.Y. Padmavati who also tested positive, are in the same hospital though they are asymptomatic with mild symptoms of the virus.

On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah tested positive and requested all those who had come in touch with him in the past few days to isolate themselves and get tested.

Congress MP Karti Chidambaram, son of former Union minister P. Chidambaram, tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Karti, an MP from Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu, is under home quarantine. He has urged all those who came in contact with him to follow medical protocol.

In Maharashtra, five ministers in the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government had tested positive earlier.

Among them were Shiv Sena leader Abdul Sattar and Congress’ Aslam Shaikh, who holds the textiles, port and fisheries portfolio — both tested positive at the end of July.

NCP ministers Dhananjay Munde and Jitendra Awhad, and PWD Minister Ashok Chavan of the Congress had tested positive in June, April and May, respectively.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was admitted to a hospital in MP after he tested positive for coronavirus. Chouhan has been taken to Chirayu Hospital, a dedicated facility for the treatment of Covid patients in the capital city. "I have been admitted to the Chirayu Hospital on the advice of a doctor after testing Covid-19 positive. All types of tests have been conducted here. I am perfectly healthy," tweeted Chouhan earlier.

In Tamil Nadu, Labour Minister Nilofer Kafeel had tested positive on 17 July, the fourth minister in the state to be diagnosed with Covid-19 after K.P. Anbalagan (Higher Education), Sellur K. Raju (Cooperation) and P. Thangamani (Electricity).

In June, Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj had tested positive for the virus, forcing Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat to go into quarantine.
