Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), is in serious difficulty following accusations of sexual assault by several of India's best female wrestlers.

Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was asked to step aside from his position following the sexual harassment allegations made against him. Famous Indian wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Sumit Mallik, and Bajrang Punia, have been demonstrating at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi for the past few days. However, a major controversy erupted when CWG gold medalist Vinesh Phogat made the shocking claim that WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been harassing female wrestlers for years.

The wrestlers also claimed that some trainers at the national camp in Lucknow had taken advantage of female wrestlers, which prompted the government to form a three-member committee to look into the claims.

Now WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been asked to step aside from his position as head of the organization while the investigations into the allegations of sexual harassment against him continue. So, discover some other facts about him:

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is a well-known BJP leader who is also a member of parliament from Kaiserganj in Uttar Pradesh. Since 2011, he has served as the Wrestling Federation of India’s president.

Living in the Gonda region of Uttar Pradesh, he began his life as a wrestler before becoming involved in student politics in the 1980s. His aggressive "Hindutva image" propelled him to stardom during the Ayodhya Ram Mandir agitation.
