Brazilian man sets ‘Guinness World Record’ for the farthest eyeball pop ever; watch video

Sidney de Carvalho Mesquita, a man from Brazil, made the headlines recently. The man surprised everyone with his record for eye protrusion by popping his eyes out at a whopping 18.2mm. An optometrist used a proptometer to measure the eye protrusion. People also call Sidney "Tia Chico." He discovered his talent at nine.

Mesquita used to make silly faces looking in the mirror, which made him realise this unique ability. He used to show off his skills to friends and family, who were intrigued. His family thought it was a disease symptom and were worried. However, once they got it checked out, they realised it was a skill, not a disease.




Chico said his skill is a gift from his creator, father, and mother. He mentioned he can pop out his eyes for 20-30 seconds but loses sight for a few seconds post it. He said it was a dream to make it to the Guinness World Records. It would open many more doors for his talent. He mentioned he feels a burning sensation, but it does not hurt when he protrudes his eyes. It happens because oxygen dries out, so he does not expose his eyeballs for long periods. He uses eye drops to lubricate his eyes.
