During the operation, Kent, leading a group of soldiers in pursuit of fleeing terrorists, found herself and her comrades under a hail of intense gunfire. In a moment of unwavering dedication, she laid down her life, bravely defending her team.
The Indian Army's Public Relations Officer in Jammu reported that in the encounter that ensued, one terrorist and an army jawan lost their lives in the Narllah area of the Rajouri district in the Jammu region.
During the exchange of fire, three more jawans were injured, including a Special Police Officer (SPO).
This incident comes on the wake of a successful joint operation undertaken by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Reasi district, in which a terrorist was eliminated. This operation also resulted in the finding of military-grade equipment, such as an AK-series assault weapon with magazines.
