BPSC 71st Prelims Results Out Now: Find out if you made the cut at bpsc.bihar.gov.in

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Tuesday officially announced the results of the 71st preliminary examination.

Those who registered for the exam can now view the results on the official BPSC website at bpsc.bihar.gov.in.

Examination Overview

A total of 4,71,012 candidates registered for the examination, with 3,16,762 actually appearing on the day of the test, which took place on September 13.


The examination was conducted across 912 centres spanning 37 districts throughout Bihar.

Successful Candidates

The results indicate that 13,368 candidates successfully cleared the Integrated 71st Combined (Preliminary) Examination.

Additionally, 893 candidates were successful in the Preliminary Examination for the post of Financial Administrative Officer.

Altogether, a remarkable 14,261 candidates have moved forward to the next phase, which comprises the mains or written examination.

Breakdown of Vacancies

The recruitment drive originally announced for 1,250 posts across various governmental departments has been expanded to 1,264 vacancies to incorporate additional positions for Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

- Labour Superintendent: 10 positions
- Sub Registrar / Joint Sub Registrar: 3 positions

- Block Panchayati Raj Officer: 22 positions
- Block Scheduled Caste / Tribe Welfare Officer: 13 positions
- Revenue Officer: 45 positions
- Block Minority Welfare Officer: 459 positions
- Deputy Superintendent of Police: 14 positions

Clarifications from BPSC on Exam Conduct

In a recent press release via social media platform X, BPSC assured candidates of the examination's scheduling, admonishing coaching institutes and social media accounts for spreading unfounded rumours regarding potential postponements.

Moreover, some examination centres faced technical issues on test day, particularly regarding the capturing of biometric data.

This led to concerns among candidates about the legitimacy of their attendance.

However, BPSC has clarified that manual attendance records, such as signatures on duplicate admit cards, will be accepted as valid proof of attendance.
