BMW Motorrad to Raise Bike Prices by Up to 6% from January 2026
BMW Motorrad India has announced a price hike across its motorcycle portfolio, with increases of up to 6 per cent set to come into effect from January 1, 2026. The two-wheeler division of the German automotive giant said the move has been prompted by sustained foreign exchange pressure and rising input costs.

The decision will impact both locally manufactured models and fully imported premium motorcycles sold in the Indian market.

Rupee Depreciation Drives Price Increase

Explaining the rationale behind the hike, BMW Group India President and CEO Hardeep Singh Brar pointed to the prolonged weakness of the Indian rupee against major global currencies.

“Pressure from forex due to the Indian rupee’s sharp depreciation against the US dollar and the euro has not eased for several months now,” Brar said in a statement. He added that higher costs of raw materials and logistics have further strained margins.

According to the company, the planned revision is aimed at balancing rising costs while ensuring long-term sustainability of operations in India.

Company Focuses on Profitability and Dealer Value

Brar said the upcoming price adjustment is necessary to maintain profitability and support the wider BMW Motorrad ecosystem in the country.

“The planned price hike measure will ensure necessary profitability and continued value generation for the company as well as our dealer partners,” he noted.

Industry experts say such moves are becoming increasingly common among premium automobile brands as global supply chains remain volatile and currency fluctuations continue to impact imports.

Models Affected: From Made-in-India to Imported Bikes

BMW Motorrad India’s product line-up includes a mix of locally assembled motorcycles and imported premium models. The ‘Made in India’ range features popular offerings such as the BMW G 310 RR and the electric BMW CE 02, both of which have helped the brand strengthen its presence in the entry-level premium segment.

On the higher end, the company’s imported portfolio includes adventure and touring motorcycles like the BMW F 900 GS, BMW F 900 GSA, BMW R 1300 GS, BMW C 400 GT, and the electric BMW CE 04, among others.

While BMW has not yet announced model-wise price revisions, buyers can expect varying increases depending on the motorcycle and its level of localisation.

Current Prices and Buyer Impact

As per BMW Motorrad India’s official website, the company’s motorcycles are currently priced between Rs 2.81 lakh and Rs 48.63 lakh, depending on the model and variant.

With the revised pricing set to take effect from the start of 2026, prospective buyers may consider advancing their purchase to avoid the increase. Dealers are also expected to witness heightened enquiries in the final months of 2025.
