Blinkit delivery executive assaults customer over address dispute in Bengaluru, watch video

A delivery executive working with the quick commerce platform Blinkit was arrested in Bengaluru after he allegedly assaulted a customer during a dispute over a delivery address, police said. The incident occurred around 2 am on March 7 at an apartment complex in the Koramangala area when the delivery worker, identified as Tanush from Ejipura, allegedly punched the customer, Paul J Vithayathil, during an argument after reaching the wrong location in the building.

Police said the confrontation began after the customer placed an order through the Blinkit application and was expecting the delivery at his apartment. According to the complaint filed with police, the delivery executive reportedly went to the wrong location inside the building while attempting to complete the delivery.

When the customer contacted him and asked him to come to the correct floor, a verbal argument reportedly broke out between the two, police said.



The delivery worker later reached the customer’s residence inside the apartment complex, where the dispute escalated further.

During the confrontation, the delivery executive allegedly punched the customer in the face, threw the ordered items and fled the spot, according to the police.

The injured customer later sought medical attention at a hospital. Doctors conducted medical examinations, including an X ray of the nasal bones, which confirmed that he had suffered a fracture to his nose.

Based on the complaint filed by the customer and the medical report, police registered a case in connection with the incident.

Following an investigation, the accused delivery worker was traced and arrested by the police, officials said.
