BLACKPINK new album deadline release
After nearly three years without a group release, K-pop supergroup BLACKPINK has officially announced its comeback album. The four-member group will release its third mini album, Deadline, on February 27, 2026, marking their first group album since Born Pink in 2022 and ending a long wait for fans worldwide.

The announcement came through a teaser video released on Thursday across BLACKPINK’s official platforms. The fast-paced clip revealed the album title and release schedule, instantly setting social media abuzz. The mini album shares its name with the group’s ongoing world tour, which is set to conclude later this month in Hong Kong.

Blackpink new album teaser video confirms release date

The teaser video made the announcement clear and direct. It read, “BLACKPINK 3rd MINI ALBUM [DEADLINE] 2026.02.27. 12AM (EST) / 1PM (KST).”

The album title connects closely with the group’s current Deadline World Tour, adding to the anticipation around the release.

This mini album follows The Album (2020) and Born Pink (2022), making it BLACKPINK’s third mini album as a group.

BLACKPINK Fans react with excitement and frustration

Fans quickly filled the comments section with emotional reactions. One fan wrote, “The world is healing.” Another commented, “Finally, can’t wait for this one.” A third added, “Trying to be normal about this.”

Not all reactions were celebratory. Some fans expressed disappointment over the format. One comment read, “Mini album? We were expecting a full album.” Another said, “We’ll be lucky if we get eight songs, probably six. Y’all should be embarrassed that your artistes as soloists can produce more and better songs than YG as a group.” Another fan asked bluntly, “We all waited so long for this? Full album when, YG?”

BLACKPINK delayed comeback finally locked in

Earlier reports had suggested that BLACKPINK would return in May 2025. The timeline then moved to November, later December, and has now finally settled on February 2026. YG Entertainment has previously linked the delays to efforts aimed at improving the quality of the release.

Deadline will officially end the longest gap between two BLACKPINK group albums since their debut.

During the long break, each member stayed busy with individual projects. Rosé earned Grammy nominations for her collaboration with Bruno Mars on APT. Jennie stepped into entrepreneurship by launching her fashion label, ODD ATELIER.

Lisa started her own company, LLOUD, and recently drew attention with her first appearance as an award presenter at the Golden Globes. Jisoo focused on acting while also preparing for her solo music, including a collaboration single with former One Direction member Zayn Malik.

BLACKPINK’s Deadline World Tour

BLACKPINK kicked off the Deadline World Tour on July 5, 2025, at Goyang Stadium in South Korea. The tour featured solo stages by Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo, with performances of popular tracks such as Rockstar, Your Love, APT and Toxic Till the End.

The tour is scheduled to wrap up on January 26, 2026, at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, just a month before the release of Deadline. For fans, the timing feels symbolic, a tour finale followed by the long-awaited return of BLACKPINK as a group.
