Fans of the hit fantasy anime Black Clover finally have a release timeline for its long-awaited return. The first episode of Black Clover Season 2 will make its world premiere at Anime Expo 2026 on July 4, 2026, ahead of its television debut in October.

The special premiere screening will take place during an exclusive panel at the Peacock Theater from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The event will feature director Ayataka Tanemura and Asta's voice actor Gakuto Kajiwara, giving fans an early look at the new chapter of the beloved series.

Black Clover Season 2 to Air From October 2026

Following its Anime Expo debut, the anime is scheduled to begin regular broadcasting in October 2026 on TV Tokyo and affiliated networks. Streaming platform Crunchyroll will also stream the new season for international audiences.

The upcoming season is being produced by Studio Pierrot, the studio behind the original anime adaptation. Ayataka Tanemura has been confirmed as director, while Keiichiro Ochi will serve as series composer. Character designer Itsuko Takeda and sub-character designer Kumiko Tokunaga are also returning for the sequel.

Asta and Yuno's Journey Continues

Based on the manga by Yuki Tabata, Black Clover follows the story of childhood friends Asta and Yuno, two orphans determined to become the Wizard King.

While Yuno possesses extraordinary magical talent, Asta was born without magic in a world where it is everything. Despite the odds, both receive powerful grimoires and embark on separate paths toward achieving their shared dream, fueling one of anime's most popular rivalries.

From TV Series to Netflix Movie

The original Black Clover anime aired from 2017 to 2021 and built a large global fanbase. After the television series ended, the franchise expanded with the film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, which premiered on Netflix in 2023. Notably, the movie was also directed by Ayataka Tanemura, who now takes charge of the upcoming second season.

The Black Clover manga began serialization in 2015 under Shueisha and has released 37 volumes as of 2025. Originally published in Weekly Shonen Jump, the series later moved to Jump GIGA in 2023. The franchise has since expanded into novels, spin-off manga, and video games.

With a premiere date locked in and a returning creative team, Black Clover Season 2 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated anime releases of 2026.
