This year's Republic Day parade will feature 148 female cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC), including Ishita Shukla, the daughter of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Kishan. The BJP leader in a series of tweets wrote that he was proud of his daughter who trained hard to take part in the Republic day parade.


Kishan said in a tweet that "For the past three years, his brave daughter Ishita Shukla has worked tirelessly to serve our country. She is a cadet in the Delhi Directorate's 7 Girls Battalion, training in the freezing cold and braving the fog in preparation for the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path," Kishan said. The NCC camp chose 148 of the 659 girls who attended to march in the Republic Day parade. An Odisha native Sonali Sahu will be in charge of the NCC girls' group.




The NCC will also hold its yearly parade at Delhi's Cariappa Parade Ground for the first time on January 28.
