Bihar weather turns unstable: Will it rain in Patna today? Check IMD's latest forecast for Gaya, Darbhanga, Siwan, Bhagalpur and other districts

The weather in Bihar is set to turn unstable on Monday, with the Meteorological Department predicting thunderstorms and rain in 32 districts of the state, including the state capital Patna. However, six districts in southwestern Bihar are expected to experience dry conditions.

Patna weather for 10 days

The IMD has forecast that the weather in Patna will remain partly cloudy today and the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 32 degrees and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively. On Wednesday, March 11, Patna might experience generally cloudy skies.



Over the past 24 hours, the maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius. Light cloud cover was also observed in several districts, including Patna.

According to the latest Bihar weather forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning may occur at one or two locations in Patna district, while the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy for the next three days. The department has issued a warning for thunderstorms, rain and isolated lightning strikes across several parts of the state. During this period, winds are likely to blow at speeds of 30–40 kmph.

The Bihar weather update also indicates a strong possibility of thunderstorms and rainfall in seven districts of the northeastern region. On Tuesday, rain and thunderstorms are likely in five districts of southeastern Bihar and seven districts in the northeast. By Wednesday, similar weather conditions are expected in 14 districts of North Bihar.

Meanwhile, Bihar weather patterns are expected to change in the Seemanchal region, with rainfall predicted in districts such as Purnia, Katihar, Araria and Kishanganj. This rainfall could bring a slight drop in temperatures, although heat may still be felt across parts of North Bihar.

Temperature readings across the state show that Bihar’s maximum temperature ranged between 28.1°C and 34.8°C, while the minimum temperature varied from 17.5°C to 23.4°C. Kaimur recorded the highest temperature at 34.8°C, whereas Agwanpur reported the lowest temperature at 17.5°C.

Despite the chances of rain in some regions, Bihar weather conditions may remain hot in several districts, including Jehanabad, Gaya, Siwan, Buxar, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Khagaria, Begusarai and Bhagalpur. In Patna, the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 32°C, while the minimum may remain near 23°C.

Overall, the Bihar weather forecast for the next few days suggests unstable conditions, with rain and thunderstorms likely in many districts across the state.

Bihar weather update

The Meteorological Centre said the altered weather pattern in Bihar is expected to continue until the night of March 11. During this period, cloud cover is likely to persist across many parts of the state, with isolated light rainfall in some areas. However, the rainfall is expected to remain light.

From March 12 onwards, the impact of the western disturbance is likely to weaken, and weather conditions are expected to gradually return to normal.

At present, maximum temperatures in many districts of Bihar are ranging between 30 and 33 degrees Celsius. Once the cloud cover clears after March 12, stronger sunshine is expected, which may push the maximum temperature up to around 34 to 36 degrees Celsius.

Experts believe that temperatures could rise further during the second half of March, making daytime conditions noticeably warmer across the state.
