Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 host Mohanlal loses calm, stops show midway over Akhil Marar's ‘disrespectful’ actions

During the Easter Day special episode on Sunday, the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 contestants played a game called 'Egg xiting', which ended badly after Akhil Marar lost his temper. He used offensive language towards other contestants, including Angelina, Sagar, and Junaiz. When the housemates discussed the issue with the host, Akhil apologized, but Mohanlal still asked him to hand over his captain band to Sagar. However, Sagar demanded an apology from Akhil, who refused to do so.

Afterwards, Bigg Boss called Akhil and Sagar into the confession room to address the situation. During the conversation, both remained firm in their positions and did not attempt to back down. Bigg Boss also pointed out that it was inappropriate for Sagar to raise the issue in front of host Mohanlal.

Later, host Mohanlal requested the crew to end the broadcast and berated the contestants, stating that he had instructed them to hand over the captain's band to Sagar, but they had disregarded his request, which he found “disrespectful”. He said that he had arrived at the event with the intention of celebrating Easter and had gone through a lot of trouble to get there, including travelling for four to five hours from Jaisalmer, going to the airport, and boarding a flight. The experience, he said, left him feeling disappointed, and therefore decided to terminate the show at that point.


Reports indicate that this is the first instance of Mohanlal losing his composure to this extent and taking the unprecedented step of halting the show in the middle of the broadcast.

Mohanlal is currently occupied with several film projects. He is presently filming Malaikottai Vaaliban with director Lijo Jose Pellissery, and he has a significant role in Rajinikanth's Jailer, which is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Mohanlal has also collaborated with director Jeethu Joseph for a new movie titled Ram, in which Trisha Krishnan will play the female lead. He will once again work with Joseph for the third instalment of the famous franchise, Drishyam.
