Bigg Boss 16: What’s the prize money? Know how much each winner earned since Season 1

MC Stan, Shalin Bhanot, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Shiv Thakare, and Archana Gautam made it to the final after many fights and drama. They are the top five Bigg Boss 16 contestants. The finale will be held on February 12th.

Bigg Boss Season 1 debuted on November 3, 2006, with Arshad Warsi as the host, and the show has since gone on to become a worldwide phenomenon.

It has had a long history of winners and several lucrative cash prizes were given to the winners of respective seasons. Taking a brief view of their journey, Rahul Roy won the first season and bagged a cash prize of Rs 1 Crore.


Thereafter, came Ashutosh Kaushik who won the second season and got a cash prize of 1 Crore INR. Followed by Vindu Dara Singh who also bagged INR 1 Crore. Shweta Tiwari and Juhi Parmar won the fourth and fifth seasons of Bigg Boss respectively.
They both bagged INR 1 Crore. In the subsequent seasons, the cash prize decreased to Rupees 50 Lakh.

Starting from the sixth season and ranging to the eleventh, the winners bagged INR 50 Lakh. The winners from seasons six to eleven were Gauahar Khan, Gautam Gulati, Prince Narula, Manveer Gurjar and Shilpa Shindey, in the exact order.

After the eleventh iteration of Bigg Boss the value of the prize money has been fluctuating. Dipika Kakar who won the twelfth season got prize money of Rs 30 Lakh. Whereas, Sidharth Shukla bagged Rupees 40 Lakhs after winning the Bigg Boss Season 13. Rubina Dilaik got Rupees 36 Lakhs for Season 14 and Tejasswi Prakash bagged INR 40 Lakhs after winning season 15.

The prize money for season 16 is not yet announced. The finale has stirred up online debates and various fans have various opinions. There are several online polls available that document the fan favourite.
