Big Bash League 2022-23: Teams, live streaming, and more

The Big Bash League 2022-23 (also known as BBL 12) will begin on Tuesday with Sydney Thunder hosting Melbourne Stars at Canberra's Manuka Oval (December 13).

BBL season 12 will feature eight teams competing in double round-robin matches, with the best five teams after the league stage progressing to the next round of play-offs - Eliminator, Qualifier, Knockout, Challenger, and ultimately the championship.

The top and second-place teams after the round-robin phase will play the qualifier, with the winner gaining a straight ticket into the BBL 12 Final, while the loser gets another chance at the summit showdown via the Challenger, where they will meet the winner of the knockout.


The third-placed team will meet the winner of the eliminator, which will be contested by the fourth and fifth-placed clubs. The BBL 2022 playoffs will take place from January 27th through February 4th, 2023.
